BBC Natural World Special

This is the remarkable story of how the Garden of Eden, the birth place of Western Civilisation, found between the Tigris and Euphrates is being restored after it was decimated by Saddam Hussein. Known as the Mesopotamia Marshes, its people and wildlife were either destroyed or driven out, reducing this unique water world to a tenth of its original size. Producer David Johnson and cameraman Steve Foote travel to Iraq amidst the turmoil of the recent elections, braving potential terrorist attacks, in order to meet Azzam Alwash, a water engineer, who is behind this incredible project. Produced and Directed by David Johnson with music composed and produced by William Goodchild. Executive Producer for Aqua Vita Films - Bernard Walton.
