BMCO JULY 2010

The BMCO's summer concert opens with Grieg's spectacular first Orchestral Suite from the incidental music to Henrik Ibsen's Peer Gynt and concludes with a superbly judged performance of Sibelius's masterful, majestic Fifth Symphony, commissioned in honour of the composer's birthday. Between the two pieces, outstanding Bristol violinist Emil Huckle-Kleve - string semi-finalist in the BBC's Young Musician of the Year competition in 2005 - joins the orchestra for a sparkling performance of Dvorak's beloved, richly lyrical concerto.
